Compared to most large cities in the Middle Kingdom, Chengdu is slower-paced,and there id an intimacy to its streets and neighborhoods. It has an alluring ambience:bustling downtown streets still have small shops and sidewalk street vendors.
Rivers crisscross the city-- the willow tree-lined Jinniang River being the primary waterway.Entering the city form the south, ot flows east to west and breaks the city's sprawl.Other parks such as the riverside Huanhuaxi and Weihua offer wonderful vistas,old temples and a chance to relax.
