在美式英语里由于几乎都用cannot 那个can not已经几乎被认为是错误的了 有些语法书会说只能写cannot 不过 在not是句子里要和其他固定搭配或者固定句式里用的话 还是可以分开写的 比如 I can not only give you an answer but also(also可以没有) explain it.

can't 在美式英语里是被当作cannot的缩写 在英式(或者大部分其他)英语里 就是 can的否定形式 can not的缩写 但是在美式英语正式用法(比如学术文章)中不能用can't (其实就是不能用缩写)
