2003年7月，重庆市政府通过了《重庆市中央商务区总体规划》，确定以解放碑商圈为核心的解放碑CBD，为整个重庆CBD的极核区。解放碑，重庆中央商务区(CBD)的代名词，日均人口流量超过30万，拥有4400多家商业网点，20多家大型商场，近百个金融网点和证券交易所，更汇聚了超过500家餐饮、休闲、娱乐等社会服务场所……
从“西南第一街”到“西部华尔街”，2015年以解放碑为中心的商贸高地将发展成为重庆的金融机构集聚中心、金融市场辐射中心、金融产品开发中心、金融人才汇集中心，崛起的解放碑将代表长江上游新兴金融中心、总部基地，成为中国西部地区唯一落成的金融CBD，在不久的将来更将成为继北京王府井、上海南京路之后的中国第三大商圈。
Jiefangbei is Chongqing’s traditional centre, the origin of Chongqing’s commerce, the first image of Chongqing. Also, Chongqing’s Government office is located in Jiefangbei. Jiefangbei is the symbol for Chongqong became to a international city and it is representing the spirit and value of Chongqing.
July of 2003, Chongqing Government determined Jiefangbei commercial ciecle area is Jiefangbei Central Business District and is also the core district of Chongqing’s CBDs. Jiefangbei, daily population flow is more than 300,000; over 4400 commercial institutions; more than 20 large shopping malls, near 100 financial offices and stock exchange institutions, totally more than 500 stroes for leisure, entertainment and other social services, etc.
Jiefangbei is from the “first street in western and south China” to “western China wall street”; In 2015, Jiefangbei will be the centre of world financial institutions, financial market, financial products and financial talents. Jiefangbei will be the unique financial CBD which seen as new upper Yangtze financial centre and base of headquarters in western China. In the near future, Jiefangbei CBD will be the third large commercial district after Beijing’s Wangfujing CBD and Shanghai’s nanjinglu CBD.
