The indulgence of many students in online games is obvious. Students may spend 5 or 6 hours every day sitting in front of the computer and, in some extreme cases, even have gone so far as to forgo their lesson time for the virtual battlefield.
Many people believe that this kind of obsession does not only undermine the students’ study, but also poses a threat to their health – from time to time, there is news about young people dying of heart attack or exhaustion after a prolonged online battle against ogres or zombies; the addiction to the virtual world would also isolate the young people and weaken their interpersonal skills – the longer they wander in the virtual world, the more likely they will be separated from the reality.
I am in the company with these detractors. Most college students are already adults and should be responsible not only for themselves, but also for their families and the country. After all, we need to strike a balance between entertainment and work.
