英语. above 和over 有无接触点，面

They built a new room above [over] the garage. 他们在车房上加盖了一个新房间。（要是没有的话 ，那么这句怎么解释了？）这句应该用up吧, up可以有接触点,而且也可表示静态的..在....上面

还有这句.They live below us他们住我们楼下。（例如，我们住在第五层，他们住在四层。）
一般来讲above ,over是没有接触点，面啊。

above 有“在。。。上方”（非接触）的意思，也有“在楼上”的意思。因此您提的两个例句都对。
below是above的反义词，用法相同。

above，over翻译的时候没区别，都是“在……之上”

有无接触点我认为不必深究，找个英文词典自己看一下例句，知道什么时候用哪个就好，所谓语感。再说，就算搞明白了，和外国人说话时也没区别。

如果在中国考试，above和over都接触不到，只有说right above/over 才接触
