a lot of and lots of have the same meaning: they both mean a large amount or number of people or things.
"a lot of" 和 “lots of “ 意思相同:两者的意思都是指”大量的或数目不菲的人或事“。
They are both used before countable nouns and uncountable nouns:
他们两者都可用于可数或不可数名词前:
with countable nouns 用于可数名词前:
A lot of people went to the game.
Lots of people went to the game.
with uncountable nouns 用于不可数名词前:
A lot of snow falls in winter.
Lots of snow falls in winter.
而 “a lot“ 则不同,
”a lot“ means very often or very much. It is used as an adverb. It often comes at the end of a sentence and never before a noun.
”a lot“ 意思是“经常” 或 “很多”。它作为副词使用,经常用在句子结尾,而从不用在名词前。如:
I like basketball a lot.
She's a lot happier now than she was.
I don't go there a lot anymore.

a lot of:many or much大量的;许多的(后接可数名词或不可数名词)
I'm under a lot of pressure.China does a lot of trade with many countries. It takes a lot of labor to build a railway.I've given the matter a lot of thought. He wasted a lot of time in those years.
lots of:He's lots of run.You have lots of time to finish the work..Lots and lots and lots of women. This factory churns out lots and lots of cars a day.She has lots and lots of money..She had lots and lots of friends. He bought lots and lots of new clothes.
理论上来说没有明显的区别,都可以接可数名词或者不可数名词.但是看常见例句可以发现,lots of 有更多的感情色彩,还有修饰用法“lots and lots of“”,表示非常非常多,a lot of 就没有这种用法.其他没有什么区别,抽象和具体都可以用的.本回答被提问者和网友采纳
