This is hardly the time to discuss such matters.
Peter is hardly ever late.
hardly any几乎没有hardly ever很少
almost never“几乎从不”=hardly ever;almost no money=hardly any money. almost: 指在程度上相差很小,差不多。
Dreams of finding lost treasure almost came true recently.
I almost fell down.
注:句中有no, none, nothing, never等词时,不可以用nearly,但可以用almost

Almost & hardly
almost - it is almost one o'clock now 差不多
hardly - there is hardly any left on the plate. 几乎

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nearly
the meaning of the word "nearly" is almost the same as the word "Almost"!

I was late and nearly missed your call
I was late and almost missed your call
