歌词如上，据说，曲子是个伦敦人做的，配上中国小调 英文歌词，原唱是潘迪文 报道中潘迪文的原话： “《Chinese Blues》这首歌，是1962年一位伦敦的作曲家给我写的，当时他用中国小调的旋律，配上英文的歌词，这首歌的感觉，不是一般人能拿捏得住。后来到了2001年，一个国际剧团来香港演一个舞台剧，他们用了我最早期的八首歌做背景音乐，其中七首都是放我的原声带，只有《Chinese Blues》这首是找其他歌手现场演绎的，唱的人就是陈奕迅，当时我就发现，他唱得实在太好了，这个小孩很有才华，所以这次做这张专辑，我就坚持这首歌一定要找回他来唱，因为除了他，香港没有其他后辈歌手能把这首歌唱得到位。”
