In my opinion, there are some advantages of having part-time jobs in one's spare time. First, we can get more money and can spend it more freely and proudly because it is the result of our labour. Second, we can get in touch with the society during the part-time job, for example, we can contact with many different people and learn how to deal with kinds of situations. All these can add our experience and help us get ready to work after graduate. At the same time, we can make more friends and get more information and happiness. What's more, some of us may find the career we are really interested in and good at.
But there are also some disadvantages of getting part-time jobs. It takes us much time as we have to work after school and it may leave us little to study and to rest. It is really a shame that some students who have part-time jobs have shown a decline in their studies or get ill because of lack of sleep. And there may be bad influence as we have to deal with all kinds of people. Some students form bad habits from the surrounding environment. It is even worse if we get cheated or hurt by some bad people.
I think that since we are teenages and at the stage of middle school, it is no hurry to get part-time jobs so early. Now we should focus on study and regular life. When we grow up, we have plenty of time and plenty of energy to take part-time jobs. And then we can protect ourselves better.
And I strongly recommend you to take part in the school activities. There are many activities at our school each year, and we can get experience and friendship in this way.
