英语强调句型能这样写吗？

原句：I first went to school on my fourth birthday.
改句：It was the first time that I went to school on my fourth birthday.
我的疑惑在于要不要加the，我是跟感觉走的，顺口而出。

还有忘说了，It was the first time I went to school,这句算什么？我觉得把这句话说出来好顺口(当然我知道不属于强调句型）

原句的意思是 在我4岁的时候最早上学
你改的句子是the first time是第一次
一个是表示时间 一个是表示次数 翻译就不同了
