看到几个回答有点误人子弟，忍不住说几句——
require sth of sb在某些复杂用法中是对的
仅就固定用法来说，require 有三种常见搭配，（有些用法字典上查require是查不到的，但是你不能说这种用法是错的，语言的搭配是很复杂的，不能因为字典上或者参考书上没有，你就说它是错的）：
1. require + that clause + 虚拟省should
2. require sb. to do sth.
3. require sth of sb. that + 虚拟语气省略should
+ do/be 解释为： 对某人有某物的要求
这种用法有两个变体：
3-1 sth. be required sb. to do
3-2 reuqire of sb. that (sth 的部分由于过长，比如是个that从句，则句子倒装)
