It takes me ... hours/days/etc. to do sth.（take的主语必须是it）
I spend ...hours/days/etc. to do sth.（主语通常是人）
sth. costs (sb.) ＋时间,（主语是具体的物，也包括doing sth）
expend，用法与spend接近，主语通常是人
偶尔也有用consume的，但它偏向花钱的，主语是物，用法同cost

2. Spend time on sth/in doing sth.
Tom spends half an hour on homework/in doing homework.
