The best airports in the world
The Airport Service Quality Awards are the industry’s most important
awards, which recognize the airports that have achieved the highest passenger
satisfaction ratings. According to the results of the ASQ Awards 2011, which
were announced recently, Asian airports are the best in the world.
Seoul Incheon Airport (SIA,首尔仁川机场)
SIA has been named Best Airport Worldwide for the seventh straight
year. With the state-of-the-art airport facilities, SIA satisfies every
passenger by offering almost perfect services.
Because of the fast arrival
and departure services, passengers can have the chance to enjoy its unique
cultural experiences. The Korean Culture Museum, which is located on the fourth
floor of the airport, shows a collection of relics (遗迹) as old as 5,000 years,
offering visitors a memorable opportunity to experience Korean culture and
history. The Traditional Culture Experience Center on the third floor is the
airport’s most popular attraction. There visitors can learn how to make
traditional artifacts (手工制品) such as pencil cases, fans, and “lucky bags,” and
then take these items back home with them. There are also traditional
performances including masque dances (面具舞) and traditional singing on
stage.
Passengers won’t feel a dull moment at SIA. There are seven gardens
located inside the airport. The free Wi-Fi service can keep them connected to
the Internet at all times. At the “Airstar Terrace (机场展望台),” visitors can rest
and enjoy great views of the aircraft taking off and landing. The Fresh Bar
serves up fresh coffee, juices and sandwiches, while the Dessert Bar satisfies
sweet tooth with its variety of chocolates, candies and cookies. At the “Spa on
Air,” they can enjoy a sauna (桑拿), private sleeping rooms, meeting rooms, a
snack bar and Thai-style massages.
If you are in transit (转机) and have
some time to kill, you can take one of the airport’s transit tours (过境旅游),
ranging from 1-8 hours, to some famous tourist attractions in Seoul.
Singapore Changi Airport (SCA,新加坡樟宜机场)
SCA is not only a major
gateway to Asia, but also one of the busiest international airports in the
world. At the heart of SCA’s success is what is known as the “Changi
Experience,” which is about putting its passengers first and at the heart of
everything it does.
Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA)
In 2011, BCIA ranked
among the world’s top three airports for the first time. Known as “China’s No.1
Gateway,” BCIA is the only large international airport in the Asia-Pacific
region to operate three terminals (航空集散站), three runways (跑道), and two control towers.
