one表示单数,代指前面的a street;
those表示复数,代指people
在语法中,one用来代替前面出现的单数名词,是泛指的概念,其复数形式为ones;而that用来代替前面出现的特指的单数名词,复数形式为those。
顺便说一下,the one就表示特指了,和that用法很像,可以互换;其复数形式为the ones,可以用those代替.

you can use ones in the second sentense. no offence.
if you use that / those, you really mean you don't like it and more or less you want to keep a distance from what you are talking about.
but for one / ones, it's neutral.
