Recently our class have had a heated discussion on how middle school students should make friends.
As we all know, good interpersonal relationship plays an important role in building harmonious society.
Many people suggest that they should make friends who are of great benefit to their studies, so they will help each other and make greater progress with their studies. Some believe that they should have friends related to their life. Whenever they have difficulty dealing with problems in terms of life, they can help rid themselves of the problems. In addition, others agree that they should have some friends who can listen to them attentively and share their bitterness and joy.
What I want to stress is that each of us should have a true friend. To make friends, we should try to remember the names of the people we contact and learn not to judge people by their appearances. Besides, we need to be friendly and care about them. When disagreement does occur, it's wise of us to talk it over to others. In brief, making true friends can really enable us to improve ourselves.

I'm writing to tell you about a food poisoning incident. Several days ago, my neighbor family ate a bag of fake food from the market. After the meal, they had
stomachaches and brought up what they had eaten as their faces turned pale. Fortunately, another neighbor passed by only to find the accident and immediately called the ambulance, which carried them quickly to hospital. After several hours’ treatment they finally escaped from death.
From this all of us have realized the importance of food safety. As some illegal businessmen are only interested in making profits in the race to become rich quickly, they seldom care about the necessary safety measures and hygiene or care what happens to consumers. They must be charged by law. Meanwhile I do hope the whole society shall begin taking action to protect people’s life safety.

第三篇：What is happiness? Different people have different ideas. Some people are rich; they think they are happy. Other people have many friends, so they feel happy. Still others are happy because their lives are meaningful. Happiness attracts(吸引) everyone. For children, happiness often suggests eating something good or playing with toys. For a stamp collector, stamps bring more delight than meals. And for a scientist, a discovery or an invention rather than anything else gives him greatest satisfaction.
There was once a beggar who was always happy. The king saw him and wondered why he was so happy because he was so poor. However, the king could have whatever he wanted; yet he himself was not happy at all. Thus we can see one’s happiness doesn’t depend on whether he is rich or poor. Happiness is a state of mind. As long as one thinks he’s content and satisfied, he is happy.
As everything exist only because its opposite(对立的), happiness exists only when pain exists. Just as a person who does not know failure never knows success, a person, who has not experienced suffering or sadness never knows what happiness means.
Happiness always promises (允诺) a hope by which people go on living. When they come to the point of losing hope because they have suffered a great deal, it is often the time when happiness comes that will give them the courage and desire(渴望) to live.
Cheer up and be happy. Happiness is not far from you. It’s just around you. Try to grasp(抓牢) it and enjoy it.
